The Russian flag was hoisted on a new fishing trawler in St. Petersburg during the solemn ceremony of putting the vessel into operation. This was announced on April 14 by the press service of the city administration.

"The National flag of Russia was raised on the Captain Yunak trawler. <...> This is a real fishing factory on the water — the catch of pollock and herring is processed right during the voyage and stored on board," the city administration wrote on the Telegram channel.

According to the report, the vessel has been equipped with new search devices and other modern fishing equipment. It is noted that the first four trawlers built by shipbuilders of the Admiralty shipyards are successfully operating in the Far East.

Last October, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with members of the Russian government, the main topic of which was the development of the fishing industry in the Russian Federation. The Head of State noted that the issue is complex and is related not only to providing Russians with affordable fish products, but also to the development of shipbuilding and the quota allocation system.
