"Currently, the Iranian authorities maintain control over the situation inside the country. The system of state and military administration is functioning steadily. Unrest and internal unrest, which were so expected in Washington and Tel Aviv, are not observed," the Russian Security Council said in a commentary.

The ministry also noted that if the negotiations between the United States and Iran are unsuccessful, the fighting may resume with greater intensity. In particular, the countries can use the peace talks to prepare for a ground operation against Iran, as the Pentagon continues to increase the grouping of troops in the region, the Russian Security Council stressed.

"The deployment of units from the 82nd Airborne Division to the Middle East continues. An amphibious assault group led by the universal amphibious assault ship Boxer with 2.5 thousand Marines and an aircraft carrier strike group led by the nuclear multi-purpose aircraft carrier George Bush are moving into the conflict zone. The expected arrival time in the Arabian Sea is just in time for the expiration of the two—week truce. We should also expect active actions by coalition forces to replenish strike and anti—missile weapons, as well as significant activity by intelligence forces," the report says.

On the same day, President of the United States Donald Trump admitted that the next round of talks between Washington and Tehran could take place in the next two days in Pakistan. The head of the White House noted that Washington prefers holding talks in Pakistan, since other countries, according to him, have nothing to do with the conflict.

Hamid Reza Gholamzadeh, director of the Iranian analytical center DiploHouse, in turn, said that Iran had strengthened its position at the negotiating table after the American "maximum plan" failed and the military operation did not bring significant results.
