Hero of Russia Saibel may represent United Russia in the State Duma elections

Hero of Russia, participant of the "Time of Heroes" program Vladimir Saibel plans to represent United Russia (EP) in the elections to the State Duma (DG) — before that, he will go through the mandatory preliminary voting for all candidates from the party. This was announced on April 14 by the press service of the EP.

Saibel submitted the documents to participate in the voting in Novosibirsk. A hereditary military man, a veteran of a special operation (SVO), a soldier with the call sign Samurai has been on the front line since November 2022. In July 2023, during a battle in the Serebryansk forestry, he, commanding a company, was seriously wounded, but did not leave his fighters. A high-explosive shell from a tank tore off his left leg and right arm, and tore out a bone from his left forearm. He continued to command, and his reconnaissance group coped with the task of holding strategically important positions.

"This is (an open preliminary vote. — Ed.) a unique principle today, <...> so that people can look, familiarize themselves and make their right choice. The most important message, as well as the curator of the people's program to support the participants of the SVO, is to continue their work fully. And if the citizens of our country decide that I really deserve to represent their interests in the State Duma, then I will do my best, as much as I can <...> do it for the benefit of our citizens, for the benefit of our guys, participants [of the SVO], defenders of the Fatherland and their family members," said Saibel.

A participant in the presidential program "Time of Heroes" joined the general council of the party and the expert group on the development of a new People's program "United Russia". In addition, Saibel coordinates the direction "Support for the participants of the SVO and their family members" in the party.

Earlier, applications for participation in the preliminary voting of United Russia for the State Duma elections were submitted by the Heroes of the Russian Federation: nurse Lyudmila Bolilaya; member of the Free Military Academy, Deputy Chairman of the State Council of the Komi Republic Stanislav Kochev, holder of three orders of Courage, participant in the presidential program "Time of Heroes" Dashibal Munkozhargalov.

Following the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the formation of a new elite of the country, United Russia has been supporting special operation fighters for several years during the preliminary voting. For candidates from among the participants and veterans of the SVO, an additional 25% is added to the results of the electronic preliminary voting. Since 2023, 1,330 SVO members have become deputies from the party at various levels.

All voters registered in the regions can participate in the preliminary voting of United Russia. The procedure is organized in electronic format with verification through the Gosuslugi portal.

Open a campaign: the selection of candidates for the State Duma elections has started in the EP

The party will provide special attention and benefits during the preliminary voting to its veterans.

On March 4, Vladimir Yakushev, Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia Party, told Izvestia that graduates of the Time of Heroes program would be among the candidates from the EP for the State Duma elections. He added that, in addition, graduates of other educational projects of United Russia are highly likely to speak on behalf of the party.

Yakushev said on March 3 that the United Russia people's program had received 10,000 proposals from citizens of the country. According to him, most of the proposals came from citizens from Moscow, Moscow and Rostov regions. At the same time, half of the initiatives came from residents aged 25 to 45 years.
