340 thousand new consumers connected to electricity
Energy facilities in the border regions, as well as in Donbas and Novorossiya, are regularly attacked. Vladimir Putin raised this issue on April 14 during a conversation with the head of Rosseti, Andrey Ryumin. The company is trying to return the lights to the homes of citizens as quickly as possible, but the work is carried out in conditions close to combat conditions. In total, in 2025, the group built more than 35 thousand km of transmission lines, thanks to which 340 thousand new consumers gained access to electricity.
What was discussed at the meeting
ROSSETI operates in 82 regions of Russia and provides 80% of the electricity generated in the country. During the year, the group paid more than 270 billion rubles in taxes to the budget, and revenue exceeded 1.8 trillion rubles. This is the largest electric grid group, 77% of which is owned by the state. "Without any exaggeration, it is a strategic enterprise," Vladimir Putin said.
More than 35 thousand km of power transmission lines were built by the company in 2025, thanks to which about 340 thousand more users gained access to the network. This year, as part of the investment program, another 900 billion rubles will be spent on new construction, modernization, and reconstruction of electric grid facilities. Especially in regions where electricity consumption is growing, such as Moscow, the Moscow region, the Krasnodar Territory, and the Far East.
The company increases the cost of the repair program every year. We are talking about creating an emergency reserve of equipment and materials, as well as expanding the fleet of special equipment. This is necessary for regions with severe climatic conditions. For example, in winter in the Murmansk region, icy and wind loads on power transmission lines were exceeded several times. "The second example is heavy rains in Dagestan at the end of March. It was said that these rains were the largest in the last 100 years, and they led to very serious flooding of our substations, as a result of which almost half a million people were turned off at their peak," said Andrey Ryumin.
Active work is underway in new and border regions of the Russian Federation. Today, about 2,000 ROSSETI specialists work in Donbas and Novorossiya. There are about 8 thousand people in the Belgorod, Kursk, and Bryansk regions. Their work often takes place in conditions close to combat, as energy facilities are regularly attacked. "But we are doing everything possible to restore the damaged facilities as soon as possible, to return electricity and light to the houses and apartments of our citizens," concluded the head of Rosseti.
