On April 13, the new chairman of the Slovenian state Assembly, the leader of the Pravda party, Zoran Stevanovic, announced his intention to hold a referendum on the country's withdrawal from NATO.
"We promised the people a referendum on leaving NATO and that we will also hold this referendum," he told Slovenian Radio and Television.
