The Government Commission on Legislative Activity has approved a draft law that tightens the rules for obtaining a residence permit for foreigners who have signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and are participating in a special military operation in Ukraine. This was announced on April 13 by Igor Cherepanov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Russian Bar Association.

"The draft law proposes to clarify the specifics of the migration status of foreign citizens and stateless persons serving under contract in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation or other military formations, as well as their family members," he said in an interview with TASS.
