Psychotherapist Alexander Fedorovich explained why it is interesting for a person to read scary news.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Monday, April 13, the expert noted that positive news, as a rule, does not attract the attention of the brain, because it does not cause tension and does not require an immediate reaction, unlike disturbing messages. According to him, negative news affects ancient survival mechanisms, forcing the brain to perceive them as a danger signal and focus on them.

Fedorovich explained that because of this, a person experiences anxiety and fear, even if there is no real threat. The brain begins to search for details of what happened, trying to regain a sense of control, but the more a person consumes disturbing news, the more this feeling is lost, and the tension only increases.

The psychotherapist added that awareness of this mechanism is already helping to reduce the impact of such news and better control their own condition.

Earlier that day, clinical psychologist Ilya Akhmedov said that anxiety due to Internet outages is a normal reaction. According to him, for many, the phone has become a way to communicate, work and quickly reduce stress, so a sudden "shutdown" is perceived by the brain as uncertainty and even a threat. 360.ru .

The day before, psychologist Lydia Kutuzova told how to identify an anxious person. According to her, he avoids direct gaze, assumes a closed pose, slouches, crosses his arms and behaves stiffly, and when stressed, he can smile nervously, bite his lips or fiddle with objects. In a relationship, such a partner is usually attentive and sensitive, but needs constant confirmation of feelings, often doubts and is afraid of being abandoned, the website writes kp.ru .

Earlier, psychiatrist-narcologist Sergey Litkov explained the causes of spring anxiety and panic attacks. According to him, many people may experience increased anxiety and panic attacks in the spring due to body restructuring and lifestyle changes.
