- The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation appealed to the VKKS to initiate a case against a judge from Kaliningrad for a bribe
Chairman of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia Alexander Bastrykin sent to the Higher Qualification Board of Judges a submission on consent to initiate criminal proceedings against the judge of the Arbitration Court of the Kaliningrad region Sergey Efimenko. This was reported on April 13 in the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the MAX.
It is specified that we are talking about suspicion of receiving a large-scale bribe. According to the agency, in 2024, a participant in one of the arbitration proceedings, as part of operational measures, transferred through three intermediaries the first part of the illegal remuneration in the amount of 1 million rubles for making the necessary court decision.
The total amount of the bribe was supposed to be 2 million rubles. It was assumed that the funds would be distributed between the judge and intermediaries, each of whom was allocated 500 thousand rubles. After the transfer of the money, one of the intermediaries was detained by employees of the regional department of the FSB.
On March 18, Bastrykin opened a criminal case against three former judges from the Stavropol Territory with the consent of the HCCC. It was noted that we are talking about Mikhail Khripunov, deputy chairman of the Stavropol Regional Court, retired, Timur Nabokov, ex-judge of the Oktyabrsky District Court of Stavropol, as well as Artyom Sergeev, former deputy chairman of the Nevinnomyssk City Court.
All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
