- Tsivilev announced that the Russian Federation had received a request from Indonesia for the supply of petroleum products
Russia has received a request from Indonesia for the supply of petroleum products. This was announced on April 13 by the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Sergey Tsivilev.
"We have received a request from our Indonesian colleagues for the supply of petroleum products to them. Russia has always presented itself to the whole world as a reliable supplier," Tsivilev said on Channel One.
He also noted that Moscow and Jakarta are working on a long-term energy supply contract. According to the minister, Indonesia had previously purchased these products in other markets, but the situation has changed due to the escalation in the Middle East and a decrease in supply reliability.
At a meeting with his Indonesian counterpart Prabowo Subianto on the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that energy and space are promising areas for cooperation between the two countries. The Russian leader expressed hope that Moscow and Jakarta will be able to find solutions to maintain a stable situation in bilateral trade.
Last December, Putin noted the good relations between Russia and Indonesia in the field of energy. The President stressed that Russia is ready to participate in the development of nuclear energy in Indonesia, if Jakarta considers it possible.
