Employees of the FSB of Russia, together with the Investigative Committee (IC) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, stopped the activities of three citizens who manipulated the securities market on the Moscow Stock Exchange through Telegram channels. This was announced on April 13 by the department's Public Relations Center.
"The illegal activities of three citizens of the Russian Federation (born in 1985, born in 1997, born in 1998), organizers of the Telegram channels Rynkydengivlast | RDV, Volk from the Moscow Exchange, Signals of the Russian Securities Exchange, involved in the systemic manipulation of the Russian stock market, were suppressed," the report says.
According to the intelligence service, from 2023 to 2024, the defendants influenced the value of securities, and then performed reverse operations at an artificially formed price. In parallel with the fraud, they published posts in their channels calling for the purchase or sale of assets. This greatly changed the quotes, according to the FSB. In total, the violators conducted 55,000 illegal transactions with securities of 19 large companies.
During searches at places of residence, security forces seized watches and accessories worth more than 3 million rubles. Law enforcement officers also took away electronic media, mobile devices, bank and SIM cards. The official representative of the Investigative Committee, Svetlana Petrenko, announced the initiation of a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 185.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Market manipulation").
On April 11, a court in Dagestan arrested the heads of a construction company suspected of embezzling more than 550 million rubles from citizens. According to investigators, some of the construction sites did not exist at all, and the company did not receive permits for real buildings. Thus, citizens' money totaling over 552 million rubles was stolen.
