The surviving tourists on the Avacha pass told the details of the struggle for life
The Fedorov couple, tourists who survived the bad weather on the Avachinsky pass in Kamchatka, held the tent in the wind for more than six hours, after which they fought for about 30 hours for life outdoors. The couple announced this on April 13 in their Telegram channel.
"The bad weather tried to bury us alive, we held the tent for more than six hours, and then for about 30 hours we fought for life on the street," the publication says.
The members of the tour group noted that the psychological state after the incident remains severe, despite the absence of serious physical injuries to both of them.
The loss of the tour group became known the day before. According to the head of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Sergey Lebedev, the tourists quarreled and split up, after which the group of seven people stopped contacting. On April 10, the press service of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that a Mi-8 helicopter of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations was involved in the search. Rescuers examined the possible route of the group from different sides.
The government of the Kamchatka Territory announced on the same day that five of the seven tourists missing in Kamchatka had been found alive, and two had died. Later, the helicopter with the injured tourists landed on the closed site of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The injured tourists are in a moderate condition.
