The incident with Russian tankers near the United Kingdom demonstrated the failure of the Royal Navy. This was reported by British military analyst Alexander Mercuris.
According to him, Russia, against the background of strengthening its position in relations with the United States, feels much more confident in comparison with Europe. The expert noted that the British government, despite its harsh rhetoric, was unable to resist the forces of the Russian Federation and was forced to "quietly abandon" plans to delay the ships.
"The British were annoyed and even humiliated that tankers with Russian oil were passing near British waters under the protection of the Russian fleet," Mercuris explained on his YouTube channel.
The analyst stressed that London is aware of Moscow's overwhelming superiority. According to the expert, if the American side really reduces its presence in Europe, it will put Britain and other European states in a vulnerable position.
The Daily Express newspaper reported on April 9 that Russia had put British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in his place by sending the Russian frigate Admiral Grigorovich into the waters of the English Channel.
