The annual All–Russian Space Dictation 2026 was held in Moscow at the Cosmonautics and Aviation Center at VDNH with the support of the Roscosmos State Corporation. Fyodor Yurchikhin, President of the Cosmonautics and Aviation Center at VDNH, pilot-cosmonaut of the Russian Federation, Hero of Russia, was one of those who read the assignment for the audience on April 12.

The annual action takes place in the form of a teleconference — the central platform connects with the regional ones, as well as in an online format. The dictation consists of 30 questions, covering various fields of knowledge in the field of astronautics and rocket science.

As Yurchikhin noted, the main purpose of the event is to show interest among young people in the topic of space and the activities of the space industry. In addition to writing dictation, the Center also provides lessons on the topic of space.

"From time to time, when interesting people are invited, it's not necessarily just astronauts. No, these are instructors who train astronauts. The staff of scientific institutes that prepare experiments has a huge pool of people. Astrophysicists who communicate with the younger generation — many people often come to their classes with their families," he said.

According to Yurchikhin, both the dictation itself and the space lessons are quite popular among the participants. After the personal registration for the promotion was opened, all the seats were occupied within half an hour.

"Absolutely free promotion, but all the seats were packed," the Hero of Russia joked.

The research of the Caring Person platform, published on April 12, showed an increased interest of Russians in the topic of cosmonautics. About 76% of Russian university students are interested in the topic of space, and 48% of them prefer to receive information about space through short videos. On Cosmonautics Day, the Roscosmos State Corporation opened the reception of applications for the cosmonaut corps on the Gosuslugi portal. You can join the cosmonaut squad and apply for participation in the correspondence selection until June 30.

At a meeting with Dmitry Bakanov, head of Roscosmos, on April 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Russian space industry feels confident despite the accumulated problems.
