Laziness is a normal desire and serves as a psychological signal that "something is going wrong" in life. This was announced on April 12 by psychologist and emotional therapist Victoria Zaitseva.

According to the expert, the reason for this condition is often a lack of motivation.

"Laziness can often be caused by a lack or lack of motivation to act. So on a typical day, it's much more difficult for us to force ourselves to clean the house than before the arrival of guests or a long—awaited holiday," she explained in an interview with Gazeta.Ru».

Other factors may be perfectionism or fear of making mistakes, the psychologist noted. In cases where the task seems too difficult, the brain tries to avoid it to protect itself from unpleasant emotions. To solve the problem, Zaitseva recommended simplifying goals and breaking them down into small steps.

"Sometimes laziness is associated with general fatigue or stress, and then quality rest can solve the problem," the psychologist emphasized.

The expert noted that laziness is temporary and is usually tied to a specific area of life, while apathy affects all human interests. With apathy, emotional devastation occurs, appetite decreases and sleep is disrupted, and symptoms persist even after rest.

"Apathy reduces interest in all areas of life. A person feels emotionally drained, as if all emotions are "turned off". Everything that used to bring joy and pleasure is no longer interesting, you don't want to do anything, sometimes even communicate with family and friends. A person experiences fatigue, lethargy, indifference to everything, there may be problems with sleep and appetite. And the most important thing is that the symptoms do not go away even after a good rest," the specialist said.

This condition occurs due to chronic stress and overload of the nervous system. Zaitseva warned that if apathy lasts more than two weeks, you should consult a psychologist or psychiatrist.

"Apathy can be a symptom of depression or emotional burnout, occur as a reaction to traumatic events, and also have physiological causes, such as diseases of the nervous system, hormonal failure, or age-related changes. And it is important to diagnose this in time for effective treatment," she stated.

On April 8, Shota Kalandia, therapist at the SM Clinic, said that a constant feeling of fatigue, which does not go away even after a good night's sleep and rest, may be a sign of disorders in the body. According to her, fatigue can be associated with chronic stress, a sedentary lifestyle, an unbalanced diet and insufficient water intake.
