Analysts reported an increase in demand for housing and communal services workers

In the first quarter of 2026, the number of vacancies in the field of housing and communal services in the Russian Federation increased by 47% compared to last year, and average salaries in the industry increased by 11%. This became known on April 12 from a study by Avito Work experts.

"The average salaries offered in the industry have reached 66,140 rubles per month, which is 11% more than a year earlier," RIA Novosti cites research data.

It is specified that the growth is due to the active involvement of workers to maintain urban infrastructure and improve the condition of the housing stock. The demand for repair workers has increased particularly strongly: the number of vacancies for them has more than tripled. The average salary of repair workers was 65.4 thousand rubles. The growing demand for these specialists is related to the need to maintain the operability of engineering systems and equipment.

Supervisors took the second place in terms of demand growth. The number of vacancies for them increased 2.9 times, and the average salary was 54.1 thousand rubles per month. Supervisors check counters, their condition, and maintain documentation.

Carpenters also entered the top three: the number of vacancies for them increased by 2.7 times, and the average salary was 60.4 thousand rubles. These specialists are in demand in the repair and maintenance of buildings and urban infrastructure.

Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin said on March 16 that Russia had seen an increase in the prestige of professions such as welders, drivers, and turners. It was noted that working professions are becoming in demand among young people. So, over the period of last year, the most frequent job search requests were for vacancies in factories, enterprises of the agro-industrial complex (agroindustrial complex), construction, mining and repair organizations.
