Farmers may start protesting in the UK over rising diesel fuel prices amid the situation in the Middle East. This was reported on April 11 by The Telegraph newspaper, citing official data.

"Discussions are continuing among farmers' organizations on how to stage protests similar to those that paralyzed traffic on Irish roads last week," the publication says.

It is noted that diesel fuel at more than 50 gas stations across the country is now being sold at a price of more than £2 per liter. According to the newspaper, because of this, discontent among farmers and carriers has increased in recent weeks, and some suppliers of fuel for agricultural machinery began rationing supplies for farmers and raised prices by almost two times, relative to their level before the outbreak of the war in Iran.

The Times newspaper, citing gas station owners and managing director of the Forecourt Eye platform, which collects fuel debts, Michelle Henchoz, reported on April 10 that fuel theft from gas stations has become more frequent in the UK amid rising fuel prices. According to Henchoz, even the fuel crisis of 2022 was not so serious. According to about 500 British gas stations, the volume of daily thefts has increased by 27% since the beginning of the conflict in Iran.
