Supporters of Russian businessman Karapetyan march in Yerevan

A march of the Strong Armenia party, led by Russian businessman Samvel Karapetyan, took place in the center of Yerevan. The corresponding footage is published by Sputnik Armenia agency on April 11.

It is noted that the action took place after a rally in Freedom Square, at which party member Narek Karapetyan and his colleagues, as well as partners in the bloc, Nairi Sargsyan, the head of the United Armenians, and Harutyun Harutyunyan, the leader of the New Era, spoke.

According to the agency, the action began with the recitation of the prayer "Our Father", after which the national anthem was played. It is specified that at the end of the event, the participants were shown Karapetyan's video message on a big screen. He stated that peace and economic development await Armenia after his election.

On March 13, the Anti-Corruption Court of Armenia issued a decision to extend Karapetyan's house arrest for a month, accusing him of calling for the overthrow of power in the republic and financial fraud.

The businessman's "Our Way" movement registered the "Strong Armenia" party in Armenia in January. According to the press secretary, the party was needed for the political realization of the ideas that underlie the movement.

On March 6, Sputnik Armenia reported on the detention in Yerevan of lawyer Ruben Hakobyan, who represents the interests of former Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and Russian businessman Samvel Karapetyan. According to available information, Hakobyan is charged with allegedly exerting pressure on a witness in one of the criminal cases unrelated to politics.

Lawyer Vardan Aloyan announced on March 27 that the court rejected the claim of the defense of Russian businessman Samvel Karapetyan against the termination of the license of the Electric Networks of Armenia company. Aloyan stressed that the validity of the Electric Grids license will remain suspended.
