Gelendzhik's modern airport is ready to accept tourist flights

The agrarian achievements of the Krasnodar Territory and how the region is preparing for the start of the new holiday season were discussed in the Kremlin late the night before. The report was presented to Russian President Vladimir Putin by Governor Veniamin Kondratiev. This summer, all beaches affected by the fuel oil spill will be opened for vacationers. Alexander Nadsadny, a correspondent of Izvestia, found out what surprises Kuban still has in store.

On the eve of the summer tourist season, which is important for the Russian economy, Governor Kondratiev informed Putin at a reception in the Kremlin that the Black Sea coast was ready for the tourist season. In particular, it was about the Anapa coast.

"Thanks to your control and, of course, the actions of the government, the government commission that worked, I think that Anapa will again receive tourists in full," said Kondratiev.

After the accident of two oil tankers in the Kerch Strait, the last tourist season on the beaches of Anapa was disrupted. The sandy shores have been cleaned all over the world since the first days after the emergency. Rescuers, environmentalists and volunteers collected dozens of tons of petroleum products.

"The measures that we have taken, where we, in simple terms, replace the sand by 50 cm, or fill it with 50 cm where there were emissions, according to the conclusion of Rospotrebnadzor, these beaches can be used," the governor of the Krasnodar Territory continued.

The holiday season on Anapa's beaches was also approved by Rospotrebnadzor. The ministry noted that there are no deviations from sanitary standards in the seawater off the coast, so tourists can not worry.

"I am very pleased that measures aimed at improvement are now visible. A lot is being done for tourists, it's obvious, we celebrate it," says Nadezhda, a tourist from the Sverdlovsk region.

Vacationers from all over Russia are waiting on the Black Sea coast. The state-of-the-art Gelendzhik airport complex works for this purpose. The terminal was built in just 18 months.

Joint-stock bank ROSSIYA and VTB became the main investors of the project. Currently, the airport accepts about seven flights a day, but by the hot season, the number of flights will increase along with geography — liners are already flying from many major cities — from Moscow to Novosibirsk.

Krasnodar Territory is not only a health resort, but also a breadbasket. Here, in the fertile black soil, if you plant, then the stick will sprout, let alone harvest.

"The seedlings are good, the moisture reserve in the soil is more than a meter. It promises a good harvest. But we always knock (on wood. — Ed.), because the harvest is not the one in the field, but the one in the bins," Kondratiev said.

But the Krasnodar Territory is not rich in bread alone, and beaches are rich. There is another important discovery waiting for tourists this summer season — a whole Wine City awaits vacationers.

"And may I also thank you on behalf of all, probably, the winegrowers and winemakers of the country? Because this is important for us, thanks to the law on viticulture and winemaking, a whole branch of the economy has appeared in our region — viticulture and winemaking," said Kondratiev.

The unique project will start receiving guests next year

The first Russian wine city, Bely Cape, is preparing for the start of the tourist season in 2026. This is a complex in Gelendzhik with an area of more than 40 thousand square meters. m., which will include a unique museum dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the tradition of Russian winemaking, restaurants, a wine laboratory, a sommelier school, a cinema and the largest wine library in the Russian Federation. The project is being created by the ROSSIYA Group of Joint Stock Bank and has no analogues in the world.

Gelendzhik Airport began its operation in May 2010. In February 2019, within the framework of the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi, a protocol on the development of an air carrier was signed. Joint-stock Bank ROSSIYA and VTB became the main investors of the project. Gelendzhik Airport resumed operations in July 2025. Tickets for the first and next flights were sold out after the start of sales.
