In the Amur region, the driver of a GAZ-3110 hit two underage pedestrians, resulting in the death of a teenage girl. This was announced on April 11 by the regional prosecutor's office in its Telegram channel.
It is specified that the accident occurred on the evening of April 10 in the village of Novoalekseyevka, Ivanovo municipal district.
"As a result of the accident, a minor born in 2011 died, a minor born in 2010 needed medical attention, she was taken to a medical facility," the publication says.
The department added that the driver was detained, and a criminal case was opened under paragraphs "a, b" of Part 4 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules and operation of vehicles, resulting in the death of a person by negligence").
According to the Prosecutor's office of the Amur region, the causes of the incident are currently being determined.
On April 10, the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Russian Interior Ministry reported that 214 road accidents had occurred on Russian roads over the past day, in which 26 people were killed and 243 injured. 19 of the dead were drivers and passengers.
