- Myasoedov called the participation of the MAX messenger in Bug Bounty a sign of product maturity.
The new Russian messenger MAX actively participates in open vulnerability search programs (Bug Bounty), which is a sign of product maturity and a serious approach to security. This was announced to Izvestia on April 10 by Pavel Myasoedov, cyber expert and CEO of IT Reserve.
"MAX went on the Bug Bounty public hunt and promptly fixes the identified vulnerabilities, thereby increasing the real, rather than imaginary, security of its product every day, which can only be welcomed," the specialist noted.
He noted that the practice of using Bug Bounty, a program that allows developers to detect and eliminate errors, is a global standard for "digital development hygiene."
"213 reports and 22 million payouts are not a MAX vulnerability, but an indicator of a serious approach and work ahead of the team of this messenger. All over the world, companies pay tens of thousands of dollars to white hackers on a regular basis for such a search for backdoors and vulnerabilities," Myasoedov emphasized.
As an example, the cyber expert cited WhatsApp messenger (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation), which spent more than $20 million on such research last year, and Telegram's largest payment exceeded $200,000 to identify a complex of critical security vulnerabilities.
On March 26, Mikhail Oseevsky, the head of Rostelecom, pointed out the decline in Telegram's popularity in the Russian Federation. This messenger, as he specified, is gradually inferior to the domestic MAX. Speaking about the death of another WhatsApp messenger, he added that now the same fate is visible in the fate of Telegram.
All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
