In St. Petersburg, a 28-year-old man killed his lover and then took his own life. This was reported on April 10 in the Main Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for the city.

"In the early morning of 04/10/2026, the body of a woman with injuries in the form of six stab wounds to the body was found in the front door of a house on Rubinstein St. in St. Petersburg," the agency said in a publication on the MAX messenger.

According to the investigation, the victim had a conflict with a roommate born in 1998. After the murder, the man committed suicide.

A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder"). Investigators conducted an inspection of the scene, and a complex of forensic examinations was appointed. Investigative actions are being carried out to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
