In Buryatia, a woman lost 2.4 million rubles due to telephone fraud. The scammers convinced the victim to give the cash "for examination."

According to a resident of the Kyakhtinsky district, at first she received a call allegedly from an employee of the military commissariat. The woman dictated the number of the insurance certificate, after which the interlocutor immediately hung up the phone. The victim became suspicious and blocked the bank card, writes IA UlanMedia.

Soon, the woman received a call from an alleged specialist of the Gosuslugi portal. He announced the leak of personal data. Then, "employees" of the FSB and the Central Bank began communicating with the victim via video link. They convinced the woman that she should withdraw the money and hand it over to the courier for examination.

The meeting with the courier took place in Novosibirsk. After that, the woman contacted the police.

In Nakhodka, a 75-year-old pensioner gave almost 2.9 million rubles to fraudsters. The woman transferred the money to a "secure" account.
