Court arrests Novaya Gazeta journalist Roldugin in personal data case
The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow, at the request of the investigation, arrested Oleg Roldugin, a columnist for Novaya Gazeta and co-founder of the newspaper Sobesednik (listed in the register of foreign agents), a suspect in the case of the illegal use of personal data, until May 10. This was reported on April 10 by a correspondent of Izvestia.
During the meeting, the investigator insisted on Roldugin's detention, as there was information that he could hide on the territory of foreign countries. In turn, the suspect stated that he did not intend to hide, and also expressed his willingness to participate in investigative actions.
He asked the court to choose a more lenient measure of restraint for him. Roldugin does not admit his guilt.
A source from Izvestia reported on the searches in the editorial office of Novaya Gazeta on April 9.
