The court stripped the status of three lawyers who left Russia
The court granted the claim of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation to terminate the legal status of three lawyers who left the country. This was announced on April 10 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.
Julius Tai, known for his involvement in high-profile cases, lost his lawyer status. He represented the interests of Mikhail Abyzov, the former Minister for Open Government of the Russian Federation, who was detained in March 2019. The Investigative Committee of Russia has charged him with fraud, organizing a criminal community and other crimes.
The Ministry of Justice asked to terminate the status of Ty and two other lawyers in connection with their stay outside the Russian Federation. Ty's interests were represented in court by 10 lawyers. The decision became a precedent: previously, such issues were considered mainly through law chambers, whereas now the agency has achieved this in court.
Lawyers point out that the consideration of a claim may affect the current practice of regulating advocacy.
Searches took place at the Moscow notary Alexander Fedorchenko on March 13. The UK drew attention to the high-profile deal involving Fedorchenko, which resulted in the injury of WWII veteran Nikolai Kizyun. It turned out that the documents signed by the veteran turned out to be a waiver of the inheritance, which included three apartments, a house, a car and bank accounts. The organizer of this fraud was Fedorchenko.
