An industrial park will be built in the Murmansk region. This will be the first site in the Arctic region to house logistics, processing and production facilities of residents of the Arctic zone. 11 companies have already expressed their intention to locate there.

The idea was supported by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov at a meeting with the head of the region Andrey Chibis.

According to the Bi-Port news agency, ship repair and shipbuilding clusters, a building materials plant and a stone processing plant will appear on a site measuring 16-17 standard football fields.

The Governor is confident that the opening of the industrial park will serve as an impetus for the development of entrepreneurship. New jobs will be created, and tax revenues will increase.

At the moment, procedures are underway to include the site on which the industrial park will be built within the boundaries of the Capital of the Arctic TOP. The NOVATEK project has already been implemented as part of this TOP.

In February 2023, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree on the expansion of the Arctic Capital TOP for the construction of a container terminal. In May 2024, a decree was signed on the establishment of a hub for cargo transshipment between ice-class container ships.
