A group of nine tourists set off on a hike from the Pinachevo district in the Yelizovsky Municipal District of the Kamchatka Territory. During the route, the participants split up due to a conflict. Two people took a shorter route, the other seven continued along the main route, after which contact with them was lost. Rescue services joined the search. Missing tourists in Kamchatka: what happened

The incident became known on April 9th. According to Sergey Lebedev, Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kamchatka Territory, the campaign started on March 28 from Pinachevo. On April 3, a conflict broke out between the participants in the Talovsky area, after which the group split up: two tourists chose a shortened route, and seven continued along the planned route.

Two participants still have a satellite phone and a tent. Most of the tourists were heading to the Avacha pass. The route was planned for about two weeks, and the return was scheduled for April 10.

The search and rescue operation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Kamchatka

The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Kamchatka Territory announced the start of a large-scale search operation. Employees of search and rescue units, specialists from the regional data center, as well as inspectors from the Volcanoes of Kamchatka Nature Park participated in the work.

The survey of the route was conducted from different directions. An Mi-8 helicopter of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations was involved in the search in Yelizovsky district. In total, 22 people and five pieces of equipment, including snowmobiles, were involved in the operation.

The group consisted of:
Elizaveta E. (22 years old), Egor R. (31 years old), Alexey K. (21 years old), Fedor R. (22 years old), Polina F. (25 years old), Kira V. (23 years old), Dmitry F. (27 years old), Oleg S. (22 years old), Sergey V. (24 year).

Most of the participants came from St. Petersburg and were students of St. Petersburg Mining University. One of the participants came from Cherepovets.

What is known about the dead and injured

According to Izvestia, two people from the missing tourist group in Kamchatka have been found dead. Rescuers also found and brought two more people to the area of the base on the Avacha pass.

Later, the press service of the Kamchatka Territory reported that all the members of the group had been found: two tourists were dead, five were found alive, but with signs of severe frostbite.

A criminal case has been opened into the incident under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence to two or more persons") and part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code ("Provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers, resulting in death").

The disappearance and death of tourists in the Perm region

A group of five people left Ufa on February 20 in private cars. After reaching the village of Zolotanka, the men boarded snowmobiles and set off into the highlands. The travelers were supposed to return on February 24, but they did not get in touch at the appointed time.

A search group of 31 people and 16 pieces of equipment was created to search for the missing tourists. A criminal case has been opened into the disappearance of a group of tourists. On March 1, it became known that four of the five missing tourists had died. One was found in serious condition and hospitalized.
