About 750 school buildings will be renovated in Moscow in seven years.
By the end of 2033, about 750 school buildings will be renovated in Moscow, said the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin. The head of the department wrote about the plans for the development of educational infrastructure in Moscow in the channel in the MAX.
"Modernization of the learning environment is one of the priorities for the development of Moscow education," Sobyanin said.
The mayor recalled that in 2024-2025, under the My School program, the city carried out a complete reconstruction of 55 school buildings. Several dozen more facilities are planned to be renovated this year.
In addition to the reconstruction of existing buildings, Moscow continues to build new educational institutions, the head of the capital noted. In 2025, more than 50 new schools and kindergartens were opened in the capital, and about 60 more are planned for 2026.
In addition, by the end of 2027, four "schools of the future" will be built in Presnensky, Meshchansky and Basmanny districts, Sobyanin said. The new academic buildings will be built according to innovative standards — with spaces for scientific experiments, group and individual work, exhibition areas and media libraries. In the future, 15 such schools should appear in Moscow.
In early April, Sobyanin opened a new school in the Bogorodskoye district in the east of Moscow. A new school was opened for students in grades 7-11. According to the mayor, the school has expanded the possibilities of additional education: students will be able to attend technical and natural science clubs, sports sections, as well as learn Korean and Chinese languages.
