The State Duma proposed to introduce preferential seniority for doctors and rescuers

The State Duma proposed to introduce preferential calculation of length of service for medical workers and employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations working in frontline and border regions. Such an initiative was made on April 9 by the leader of the Just Russia party, the head of the Duma faction, Sergei Mironov.

"I ask you to consider the initiative to introduce a preferential calculation of seniority according to the formula "one year for three years" when assigning a pension," RIA Novosti quoted an appeal addressed to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

It clarifies that the initiative concerns specialists performing duties in conditions of increased threat to life and health, including in the Belgorod and Kursk regions, as well as in the Donetsk (DPR) and Lugansk (LPR) People's Republics, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions.

Mironov stressed that medics provide assistance to the victims and participate in the evacuation of citizens, and the staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are engaged in eliminating the consequences of shelling, extinguishing fires and conducting rescue operations. He noted that despite the lack of combatant status, these specialists work in conditions beyond the normal service and need additional social guarantees.

On March 12, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that eight doctors were killed as a result of a strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on one of the medical institutions in the DPR. It was clarified that at the time of the deliberate strikes, there were more than 130 patients and about fifty employees in the building of the medical institution.
