Cakes and dyed eggs can harm pets, as they cause gastrointestinal upset and kidney failure. This was announced on April 9 by Elena Frolenko, a veterinarian and expert at SUPERPET, a natural food manufacturer.

"Even a small piece of Easter cake or cottage cheese can cause vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain," Frolenko explained in an interview with Gazeta.Ru».

She clarified that the cake contains several ingredients that are dangerous to the health of pets. Sugar and dough can put a lot of strain on the pancreas, which can lead to pancreatitis. Raisins and dried fruits can cause kidney failure, and Easter cheese can harm a pet's health due to its high fat content.

"And in the case of raisins, the consequences can be much more serious — up to kidney failure," the expert noted.

The veterinarian added that pets can be given some boiled eggs without shells, but you should avoid colored eggs in onion shells, eggs from the table that lay next to other products, as well as raw eggs.
