Rosstandart has adopted a new GOST that sets requirements for mopeds and motorcycles with electric drive. The document, which was reviewed by RIA Novosti on April 9, will enter into force in May this year.

"The requirements of the standard are aimed at improving the safety of mopeds and motorcycles with electric drive," the document says.

It is specified that in order to switch the vehicle from the off state to the driving mode, the driver must perform at least two actions. There is also a mandatory indication of the driving mode on the dashboard.

In addition, the standard requires a low battery alarm so that the driver can leave the traffic area in a timely manner. Rosstandart noted that the current GOST system is aimed at improving the safety, quality and technological compatibility of motor vehicles.

On April 1, Rosstandart approved the first GOST for educational equipment, the requirements of which will begin to apply from June this year. It was noted that educational equipment for children aged 7-14 years should be designed taking into account their increased activity: the structure should be durable, exclude access to dangerous elements and provide security locks.
