Russian Marat Nikandrov (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) was sentenced for failing to fulfill the duties of a foreign agent. According to the court's decision on April 8, the man was found guilty under Part 2 of Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Violation of the procedure for the activities of a foreign agent committed by a person subjected to administrative punishment for committing any of the administrative offenses provided for in Part 2 of Article 9 of the Criminal Code").

The defendant has the right to appeal the verdict within 15 days. After the court's decision comes into force, Nikandrov will be given a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave and proper behavior. He himself admitted that he had not actually submitted the necessary reports to the Ministry of Justice, RBC pointed out. The case against the foreign agent was initiated on February 12. It is noted that he was sentenced to eight months of probation.
