Fifth graders will begin studying the new school subject "Spiritual and moral culture of Russia" from January 2027. This was stated by Olga Koludarova, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, at the opening of the department's district meeting in the Ural Federal District.

"From January 1, 2027 <...> as soon as we leave the January holidays, we begin the implementation of this subject ["Spiritual and moral culture of Russia"] every week, 17 hours <...> in the fifth grades," RIA Novosti quoted the deputy minister as saying.

According to her, students in grades 6-7 will begin studying the discipline on September 1, 2027.
