The First Court of Appeal upheld the verdict in the case of the murder of biker Kirill Kovalev in the capital's Lyublino district because of a remark he made about parking. This was announced on April 8 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

A car in which one of the intruders drove up to the conflict site was confiscated to the state revenue.

The prosecutor's office considered the unjustified and excessively lenient punishment against Bakhtiyar Abbasov and Nahid Huseynov, who had previously been released from custody, as well as the acquittal of Nizami Abbasov. The state prosecution demanded that the car be recovered from the state's income, the verdict be overturned and the case sent for a new trial.

In turn, the victims' lawyer stressed that the amount of compensation for moral damage to the victims was significantly reduced in the verdict. Speaking in court, Kovalev's mother said that he was planning a wedding. The bride of the deceased biker visits a psychologist.

Kovalev's murder took place on April 17, 2024 in Moscow on Krasnodarskaya Street. A 24-year-old motorcyclist made a remark to Shahin Abbasov, who parked his car on the sidewalk near the entrance of an apartment building. In response, he punched and kicked him multiple times on the body, and also stabbed him in the abdomen, after which he disappeared.

The victim died in the hospital the next day. A criminal case was opened into the murder. The suspect was detained on April 19 in the Rostov region along with two accomplices. Abbasov's father and friend were also detained.
