Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev lost to athlete Matteo Berrettini in the second round of the Monte Carlo Masters tournament. The match ended with a score of 6:0 in favor of the Italian. The match lasted 49 minutes.

Medvedev ranks 10th in the ranking of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), Berrettini is on the 90th line. The Russian lost the match dry for the first time in his career.

Berrettini became the fifth player in the history of the ATP rankings (since 1973) to beat a top-10 opponent with the same score. Now, in the third round, the Italian will face the winner of the Joao Fonseca – Artur Rinderknes pair.

Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev, ranked 15th in the world rankings, reached the second round of the Association of Tennis Professionals (WTA) Masters tournament in Monte Carlo. In the opening match on April 6, he beat Portuguese Nuna Borges (the 50th racket of the world). The meeting lasted 1 hour 34 minutes and ended with a score 6:4, 1:6, 6:1.
