On April 8, BTS released a music video for the song Hooligan from their album ARIRANG. The video became the third visual work within the promotional campaign of the record.

The video was shot in the genre of dystopian fiction: dark desert spaces shrouded in fog and dust and masked dancers are in the frame. According to Billboard, in one episode, all seven members of the group — RM, Jin, Suga, J-hope, Jimin, V, and Chonguk — gather on a red platform while masked dancers move around them against the backdrop of a stone palace.

According to Billboard, in the first week after its release, the album sold 641,000 album equivalent units, the best weekly performance for the band in the history of the chart. In its second week, ARIRANG also retained the top spot on the Billboard 200. According to Pinkvilla, the ARIRANG World Tour will start on April 9, 2026 at the Goyang Stadium in South Korea and will last until March 2027. The band will perform in 34 cities in North and Latin America, Europe, Australia and Asia.

The ARIRANG album was released on March 20, 2026, and is BTS' first studio album after the band's hiatus from collaboration. All seven participants served mandatory military service in South Korea from December 2022 to June 2025.

BTS band member Kim Taehyung, known by the pseudonym V (Vi), spoke about the most difficult ordeal during compulsory military service. According to Hauterrfly, the singer shared the details of his experience on the Fairy Jaehyung YouTube show for the first time, and his words instantly spread all over the Internet.
