The capital has approved priority plans for the development of Moscow education for 2026. Among them is the further improvement of the pre—professional environment in high school, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said in his channel on the IACH.

Special attention will be paid to mathematical and natural science education, career guidance, said the head of Moscow. "The priority is also to improve the conditions for professional development and motivation of teachers and the development of a digital educational environment, including services based on artificial intelligence," Sobyanin wrote.

The mayor noted that the renovation of several dozen buildings will be completed this year under the My School program. The authorities of the capital will also continue to modernize secondary vocational education, which, in particular, includes the renovation of buildings, laboratories and workshops, updating curricula and increasing practice.

Sobyanin called Moscow the leader of world education, recalling that the capital's schoolchildren won 22 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze medals at international academic Olympiads last year — 64% of all awards of the national team. At competitions in chemistry, computer science, geography and astronomy, the capital's schoolchildren won all the gold in the national team.

Graduates of the capital's schools have been gaining the maximum 400 points in four subjects of the Unified State Exam for the second year in a row, and four graduates have received 300 points in three subjects this year, the mayor noted. In addition, Moscow is significantly ahead of the next four ranking leaders combined in terms of the number of diplomas awarded to the winners of the All-Russian School Olympiad, the head of the capital stressed.

In March, Moscow schoolchildren won 52 diplomas in the finals of the Programming Olympiad, which has been organized by the Moscow Department of Education and Science together with partners since 2002. Students from the capital's schools have won 22 first—degree diplomas, 21 second—degree diplomas and nine third-degree diplomas.
