Machine gunner Corporal Nikolai Shatrunov, acting as part of an assault group, carried out the task of defending the stronghold, destroyed and wounded the personnel of the assault group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on April 7 by the Ministry of Defense.

According to the ministry, the enemy attempted to regain lost positions by deploying assault units with the support of artillery and attack drones. Shatrunov took a favorable firing position in advance and disguised himself.

Despite the intense fire and explosions nearby, he expected and did not disclose his location. After waiting for the enemy to enter the affected area, the corporal opened aimed fire from a machine gun.

As a result of accurate fire damage, a significant part of the militant group was wounded and destroyed. Thanks to his combat skills and courage, the enemy suffered losses, and Russian military units held their positions.

The Ministry of Defense also noted the heroism of the commander of the flamethrower squad, Junior Sergeant Artyom Bunin. He carried out the task of clearing the forest belt, which was under the control of the enemy. During the stealthy advance, he revealed a camouflaged fortified position of a mortar crew.

Bunin approached the object and organized surveillance without letting himself be discovered. After the enemy received the command to open fire, the junior sergeant established the location of the ammunition depot and the personnel of the calculation. Using a hand-held grenade launcher, the hero delivered precise strikes at the identified targets, destroying the enemy's warehouse and shelter. After the mortar position was suppressed, he reported the situation to the command and continued the task.

Thanks to the competent actions and experience of the junior sergeant, the enemy lost firepower and a favorable position, suffering losses in personnel. This allowed the Russian units to occupy a favorable line without losses from artillery fire and continue advancing into the depths of the defense.

On April 7, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Captain Eldar Dzhamalutdinov, performing the task of holding a stronghold in the area of one of the settlements, competently organized the defense to protect it. Under the active use of artillery and attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the captain's unit under his leadership repelled two enemy counterattacks, destroying 20 Ukrainian militants and 30 FPV drones. The ministry also noted the decisive actions of Junior Sergeant Artyom Nabok, who identified and eliminated Ukrainian militants moving in an armored vehicle towards our units.
