The expert named a way to retain employees in the era of AI and new skills
Yakov Yakubovich, an expert on socio-economic policy, told how to keep employees in an era when artificial intelligence (AI) requires new skills. In conversation with the agency RuNews24.Ru On Tuesday, April 7, the specialist noted that when implementing AI, companies are more likely to invest in technology than in employee training.
According to him, this is a typical bias for the early stages: investments in hardware and software outpace the development of human capital. He cited research data according to which a significant part of employees are afraid of losing their jobs due to AI, while more than half of companies have not trained staff in basic technology skills, and in Russia only 19% of companies use AI in training regularly, despite its widespread adoption.
The expert explained that such a gap is associated with the expectation of a quick return on investment and a focus on processes where the effect is easy to measure, such as the automation of recruitment. At the same time, employee training and adaptation remain on the sidelines, and existing HR systems do not take into account real skills.
He stressed that ignoring training creates risks: companies are not getting the expected efficiency, employee anxiety is growing and engagement is decreasing. According to him, without people who know how to work with AI, the technology remains ineffective. In addition, lack of human control increases the likelihood of mistakes and reputational losses.
The expert expressed the opinion that companies need not just to implement AI, but to rebuild their work and evaluation system so that technologies and employees complement each other. Among the solutions, he named the development of digital mentoring, the revision of career models and increased transparency in working with staff. As a result, in his opinion, success will depend not on the speed of AI implementation, but on the ability to synchronize technological development with the development of employees.
On April 6, it was reported that in China, dismissed employees began to be replaced with digital counterparts. Companies use AI agents trained on business correspondence and employee documentation, the website notes. kp.ru .
At the same time, digital expert Evgeny Khodchenkov explained how AI is changing the requirements for employees. According to him, the winners are those who manage to reassess the roles of people around the new technology and explain to them their importance in the new system, notes 360.ru .
On April 4, a group of State Duma deputies allowed the use of verified neural networks in education. It is noted that verified AI systems can be allowed, in which pedagogical control and protection of personal data will be provided.
On April 2, technology entrepreneur and venture capitalist Evgeny Khodchenkov said that the introduction of AI increases employee productivity by 15% if perceived as a tool to enhance rather than replace. According to the expert, the key principle is to maintain human control: AI offers options, but the decision is made by the employee, writes RT.
At the same time, HR expert Garry Muradian, in an interview with NSN, said that 500 companies in Russia are already using AI to recruit employees. According to him, job seekers in Russia don't trust robots, so they don't really understand interviews involving AI.
