- The burial site of 26 Soviet soldiers from the Second World War has been excavated in Lithuania.
In the Lithuanian city of Siauliai, archaeologists have unearthed the remains of 26 Soviet soldiers from the Great Patriotic War, buried near the Cathedral of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. This was announced on April 7 by the Lithuanian state television and radio station LRT.
"Today, 26 will definitely be extracted, which is half. <...> Next week I would like to complete the exhumation, because there is not much time. If we are working intensively this week, then we may finish next week," the company quotes archaeologist Rokas Kranjauskas, head of the Arksaika exhumation community.
