Experts believe that next week the energy factor will determine not only the military, but also the economic agenda: against the background of the conflict in the Middle East, any attacks or threats will immediately be reflected in the markets. In their opinion, the global economy is entering a period of protracted instability, and a high level of uncertainty, even without a complete blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, has a stronger impact on prices than short-term crises.

"The conflict is becoming more and more clearly multi-vector. Another area is Israel's war in Lebanon. This week, the pace of Israeli forces' advance, the level of casualties, and the ability to hold occupied areas without stretching the supply line will be key. The humanitarian crisis is expected to intensify, which will be used in the diplomatic and information circuit," said Nikolai Sukhov, a leading researcher at IMEMO RAS, in an interview with Mail News on Tuesday, April 7.

The IDF stated that the purpose of the operation in Lebanon is the complete disarmament of the Shiite Hezbollah organization. In addition to the airstrikes, Israeli forces are conducting ground operations and plan to gain a foothold in the "security zone" in the south of the country. This implies a long-term military presence, increases the risk of a protracted conflict and complicates the prospects for its rapid resolution.

On April 5, an Israeli airstrike on Tyre in southern Lebanon completely destroyed an apartment building. On the same day, the Hezbollah movement announced an attack on an Israeli warship located 68 nautical miles (125.94 km) off the coast of Lebanon, claiming that it was preparing for attacks on Lebanese territory, writes Regnum news agency. It is specified that the strike was carried out by a naval cruise missile after several hours of monitoring the target. A direct hit of the target was recorded, RT notes.

On April 3, it was reported that 27 civilians were killed and 105 others injured during the day as a result of Israeli strikes on Lebanon.

On March 28, Lebanese journalists were killed in an Israeli drone strike in the south of the country. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the strike, calling it a blatant crime that violates all norms protecting journalists. 360.ru .

The escalation between Israel and Hezbollah began on the night of March 2, when the movement resumed rocket attacks amid an escalation in the region. In response, Israel launched large-scale strikes on Lebanese territory, after which it announced the start of a ground operation in the south of the country.
