The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported a decrease in the number of road accidents in Russia at the beginning of the year

According to the results of January-February 2026, the number of accidents involving victims on the roads of Russia decreased by 8.2% compared to the same period last year. The Russian Interior Ministry announced this in its channel on MAX on April 7.

The number of people killed in road accidents during this period decreased by 13.2%, and the number of injured citizens decreased by 6.3%. Also, at the beginning of the year, the number of accidents committed by intoxicated drivers decreased by 44.6%. There were 63% fewer dead and 43.8% fewer wounded.

In addition, 3.1% fewer accidents involving minors were registered during this period. The number of children killed in them decreased by 11.3%, and the number of injured by 1.4% less.
