A high-alert mode has been introduced in Nizhny Tagil. The decision was made due to the threat of flooding of the village of Baronskaya. During the spring flood, water rose in the Mezhevaya Utka River.

Vladislav Pinaev, the mayor of the city, arrived at the scene of the emergency. He took personal control of the situation. The mayor posted photos of the flooded street and adjacent territories on social networks. The second video shows a street with almost no water. The fact is that rescuers on airboats were able to break the ice floes on the river in a day, which were the cause of the congestion, writes the news agency " <url>".

The high-alert mode will remain in effect as long as the ice is breaking. Since last Sunday, the water level in the river has been gradually decreasing.

The authorities are ready for any development of the situation. Emergency services were switched to an enhanced mode of operation, and a temporary accommodation center was set up on the basis of one of the schools. There are no people willing to evacuate yet, the administration's press service said.

Earlier it was reported that at least eight people could have died in Dagestan due to flooding after heavy rains that hit the republic on April 4 and 5, Izvestia calculated based on reports in official sources and the media. Currently, more than 2 thousand residential buildings in nine settlements have been flooded in the region, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. Due to the erosion of the ground in Makhachkala, a three-story building collapsed, and four more high—rise buildings are in the risk zone. More than 4 thousand people were evacuated in the Derbent region — the dam of the reservoir broke there.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
