The head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, sold his assets in major US defense companies, including Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Honeywell, to take over the post of head of the military department. This was reported by RIA Novosti on March 7.

Even before taking office, on January 10, 2025, Hegseth signed an ethical agreement, pledging not to participate in matters that could affect his financial interests. Having become Minister of War on January 25, he was obliged to bring his portfolio in line with these requirements — and on February 7 he sold shares of Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Honeywell.
