Kiev's attacks on the facilities of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) in Novorossiysk are terrorism, which no one doubts. This was announced on April 6 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"Pure terrorism," RIA Novosti quoted the diplomat as saying.

CPC is the main route for Kazakhstan and the largest oil transportation route from the Caspian region. The 1.5 thousand km pipeline accounts for more than 80% of the state's exports.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that the purpose of Kiev's attack on CPC facilities on April 6 was to inflict economic damage on its shareholders from the United States and Kazakhstan. Enemy drones damaged the pipeline of the outrigger mooring device and the drain-filling berth. Four tanks with petroleum products caught fire due to the attack, the ministry said.

Economist and political analyst Vasily Koltashov told Izvestia that the strikes on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium are part of Ukraine's overall strategy to damage any oil supplies linked to Russia. According to Koltashov, Washington is currently not interested in rising prices on the world market, but the attacks on the CPC complicate the situation.
