Grandson of impressionist Korovin, who died in France, is cremated
Russian-born artist Alexei Guy Korovin, the grandson of the famous impressionist Konstantin Korovin, who died in France, will be cremated, sources in his entourage said on April 6.
"He will be cremated, and an urn with ashes will be placed on Konstantin Korovin's grave in the [cemetery of the French city of] Saint-Genevieve-des-Bois, as he wanted," RIA Novosti quoted the source as saying.
The farewell ceremony for the artist is scheduled for April 11, it will be held in the city of Quimper (Brittany region, north-west France).
The grandson of the famous impressionist Korovin died at the age of 99 on April 4 in France, surrounded by close people and family. The artist Alexey Guy Korovin became popular as a landscape painter. He was awarded medals for his work at exhibitions in Paris, Geneva and Marseille. His paintings were exhibited in Moscow in 2020.
