The prevalence of urological diseases among young men is a trend related to many factors, primarily lifestyle. Bad habits, chronic stress, constant lack of sleep, and lack of activity can lead to irreparable consequences for men's health, Maxim Predel, a urologist and andrologist at SM Clinic, said on April 8.

According to the doctor, the most common urological diseases in young patients are prostatitis, genital infections and cystitis (urethritis). As noted by Predel, prostate inflammation in young patients can develop both against the background of sexual infections and due to lifestyle - prolonged sitting and circulatory disorders in the pelvis, hypothermia or constant stress.

"A typical patient in a urologist's office is a young man who spends most of his working hours sitting in an armchair. Hence the stagnation in the pelvis, which often affects the prostate. If the patient ignores the symptoms (pain in the perineum and scrotum, frequent urge to urinate), the inflammatory process gradually increases, becoming chronic. The symptoms here are mild, but the disease itself does not disappear anywhere. This condition is dangerous for men with complications such as impotence and infertility," says the doctor.

Their precursors are a gradual deterioration of erection, decreased libido and pain during sexual intercourse. This causes a man physical discomfort, deprives him of confidence and a fulfilling sex life. In addition, serious malfunctions begin in the prostate gland. The production of secretions necessary for the growth and development of spermatozoa is deteriorating, which does not have the best effect on reproductive function.

According to Limit, another problem that young people often face is infections of the genitourinary system, including sexually transmitted diseases.

"Men usually tend to postpone a visit to the doctor, especially if the symptoms seem minor. But it is infections that most often cause chronic inflammatory processes in the prostate, and in the future, infertility," the urologist emphasized.

The doctor also mentioned cystitis (urethritis), which, although less common in men than in women, is much more severe. The disease is most often caused by a bacterial infection, but hypothermia or diving into an ice font can be triggering factors. The characteristic symptoms of cystitis are severe pain and burning in the lower abdomen, frequent urination.

If a man is constantly faced with this problem, you need to look for the root cause. Without the timely help of specialists, the bacterial process can spread to the upper urinary tract and lead to severe inflammation of the kidneys (pyelonephritis).

Predel added that in most cases, the development of urological diseases can be prevented. We are talking about basic things — sufficient physical activity, protection during sexual intercourse, to exclude hypothermia, regular intimate hygiene at least twice a day and annual examinations, even if there are no special complaints, because the main health risk is associated with ignoring the symptoms. This can lead to complications and a decrease in a man's quality of life in the future.

Philip Kostyunin, a urologist and andrologist at SM Clinic, said on March 17 that chronic prostatitis is a disease that can lead to sexual dysfunction and other very serious health problems. According to the expert, the main threat of chronic prostatitis lies in the latent course of the disease. Under the mask of chronic prostatitis, malignant tumors of the prostate gland can often be hidden, since in the early stages the symptoms and manifestations of these pathologies are minimal and similar to each other.
