Moskvich electric scooters appeared in the capital's parking lots
Scooters of the new Moskvich model have become available for rent at city bike parks. This was announced by the Moscow Department of Transport on April 6 at the MAX.
The new scooters, which are being assembled at the Moscow automobile plant, have a number of special features. For example, they are equipped with an IoT module that automatically reduces speed in slow zones and restricts entry to places where scooter movement is prohibited.
When developing the model, they applied an "automotive approach" to lighting technology, the Department of Transport noted. The scooters are equipped with side indicators that blink when braking, and a powerful flashlight with a beam range of up to 10 m.
They also have large numbers on four sides, which simplify the recording of violations by cameras; an enlarged front wheel and a special emphasis on the platform. The body of the scooter is marked with reminders and safety rules: "do not ride together" and "dismount at the crossing."
The fact that the assembly of electric scooters was launched at the Moskvich automobile plant became known on March 27. The pilot project was implemented jointly with Yandex and the Department of Transport of the capital. As part of the test phase, the company will produce 2,000 electric scooters.
