- Iranian Foreign Minister Araqchi wrote a letter to the UN about the attack on nuclear facilities
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has written a letter to the UN about the attack on the Islamic Republic's nuclear facilities. This was announced on April 5 by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in its Telegram channel.
In the document, the Foreign Minister stressed that the threat comes from the United States and Israel. Sites that are under Tehran's security guarantees may be under attack.
On the same day, the head of the Rosatom State Corporation, Alexei Likhachev, announced that the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) had resumed contacts with Rosatom State Corporation. He noted that Iran reports its actions to Rosatom based on the situation.
The AEOI reported on the eve of a new shelling of the territory of the Bushehr nuclear power plant by the United States and Israel. As a result of the blast wave and shrapnel, one of the auxiliary buildings of the NPP was damaged, and one of the employees of the station's physical security department was killed.
Araqchi, in turn, noted that residents of the capitals of the Arab states of the Persian Gulf may suffer from radioactive contamination as a result of the attacks on Bushehr. The Minister also expressed dissatisfaction with the position of the international community.
