The State Duma told about actions in case of errors in utility bills

Russians need to contact the management company or the housing inspectorate if the old payment date is still on the utility bills. This was announced on April 5 by Vladimir Koshelev, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services.

"In some regions of Russia, residents could receive March receipts indicating the previous date — before April 10. This is a technical error by the management companies that did not have time to update the templates. If an error is found, you should contact the management organization or the housing inspectorate," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Koshelev also noted that the adopted changes are of a social nature, since many citizens receive their salaries on the 10th, and now they will not have to resort to borrowed funds.

The Liberal Democratic Party proposed to introduce in Russia a procedure for direct reimbursement of overpayments for housing and communal services on March 14. The document notes that the current mechanism for recalculating the amount of utility bills does not compensate citizens for the costs already incurred. It is specified that the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) for the period from 2023 to 2025 found overpayments of Russians in the amount of 103 billion rubles.
