LDPR deputies want to exempt Russians from paying transport tax during the period when seasonal transport is not actually used. This proposal was made by party leader Leonid Slutsky in a letter to the head of the Federal Tax Service (FTS) Daniil Egorov. Izvestia has the text of the document.

The initiative takes into account people's real lives and makes taxation more reasonable, said Alexander Kurdyumov, a co-author of the bill and a member of the LDPR Supreme Council.

"The main purpose of the bill is as follows: a person should not pay tax for the period when seasonal transport, that is, boats, motorcycles, snowmobiles, motorcycle sleds and other means, is not actually used. If a boat with a motor is needed only in summer, it is unfair to charge a transport tax for it in winter. If a snowmobile is used in winter, no tax should be charged for it all year round. We are talking about a clear and fair principle — you pay when you actually use seasonal equipment," he explained.

As a result, the tax burden on citizens living in regions with a short navigation season, harsh climatic conditions or a limited period of stable snow cover will decrease, the letter to the Federal Tax Service says.

On February 18, a bill was submitted to the State Duma on the introduction of a one-time tax on the purchase of expensive vehicles. It is proposed to amend the Tax Code. The tax will affect cars worth over 20 million rubles, as well as yachts, boats, helicopters and airplanes worth over 50 million rubles.
